Terms
Terms of use
Short version: our tools are free and in active development, we fix what we can and change what we must, and your data stays yours. The details below are the whole agreement — there is no fine print.
Last updated 5 November 2026.
The software
- Keepware apps and this website are provided free of charge, as is, without warranty of any kind. They are small tools built by a one-person software house — expect the odd bug.
- We may add, change, improve or retire features at any time. Release notes go out on the email list and RSS feed.
- Your content is yours. ClipBridge syncs it between your own devices; it is encrypted on your devices before it leaves them, and we cannot read it.
- You may install and use the apps on your own devices. Don't resell them or redistribute the installers as your own.
Accounts
- A Keepware account is optional — every app works without one. If you use one, you sign in with Google: we never see or store your Google password, only your name, email address and profile picture, as described on the privacy page.
- Keep your Google account secure; you're responsible for activity that happens through a sign-in on your account.
- Use the account for yourself, not as a shared login for a group or a team.
- We may suspend an account that attacks the service, abuses relay capacity, or is used for anything illegal.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Keepware services for anything illegal, or to sync or distribute content you have no right to.
- Don't probe, overload or try to break keepware.dev or the sync relay. If you find a security issue, tell us and give us time to fix it.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Keepware is not liable for indirect or consequential damages — lost profits, lost data, lost time. Our tools back nothing up and guarantee nothing; if a clipboard item matters, keep a real copy. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the products change. The current version always lives at this address, and material changes are mentioned in release notes. If a change isn't acceptable to you, stop using the affected service — removing an app removes its data from the relay.
